Chhaach or Mattha or Buttermilk is an amazing, cool and refreshing beverage to serve on a hot summer day. It helps in curing stomach ailments, provides protection against heat strokes and aids in digestion. Make this refreshing drink for your family and friends with the help of step by step photos and detailed recipe given below:

Preparation Time : 5 minutes

Cooking Time: 5 minutes

Recipe Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients for Chhachh सामग्री:

  • Chilled Curd - 1 big cup
  • Chilled Water - 1/2 cup
  • Salt as per taste (or you can also use black salt as your taste)
  • Roasted Cumin Seeds Powder - 1 tea spoon
  • Chaat Masala Powder - 1/2 tea spoon
  • Red Chilli Powder - 1 pinch
  • Coriander Laves or Mint Leaves - as per requireement
  • Ice Cubes - as per requirement

Procedure for making Chhachh:

  1. Pour the chilled curd in a mixer jar and blend it to make it smooth for 1 minute.
  2. Now add ice col or chilled water and salt as per taste to it and blend again for 2 minutes
  3. Then add roasted cumin seeds powder and chopped coriander leaves (or mint leaves) to it and mix well. The chhach is ready.
  4. Pour the chhach in serving glasses and garnish with red chilli powder, chaat masala powder and chopped coriander leaves.
  5. Add ice cubes if required. The cool and refreshing chhachh is ready to be served. 

छाछ बनाने की प्रक्रिया:

  1. मिक्सर जार में ठंडा दही डालें और इसे 1 मिनट के लिए ब्लेंड करके चिकना करें।
  2. अब इसमें ठंडा पानी और स्वादानुसार नमक डालें और फिर 2 मिनट के लिए ब्लेंड करें।
  3. फिर भुना हुआ जीरा पाउडर और बारीक कटे हुए धनिया के पत्ते (या पुदीने के पत्ते) को इसमें डालें और अच्छी तरह मिलाएं। छाछ तैयार है।
  4. छाछ को गिलास में डालें और ऊपर से लाल मिर्च पाउडर, चाट मसाला पाउडर और कटे हुए धनिया के पत्तों को छिड़क कर गार्निश करें।
  5. यदि आवश्यक हो तो बर्फ की क्यूब्स डालें। आपका तरोताज़ा करने वाला और ठंडा छाछ तैयार है।
