Tomato Rice Recipe - Learn How To Make Tomato Rice

Tomato Rice is an easy to make, quick to cook and a dish with a tasty twist to precooked or left over rice. Just top it with butter and it is ready to be served. It can be served as lunch or dinner, and can be packed for lunch boxes for kids. They will love it for sure and you will be relieved with the fact that your kids have had their daily dose cereals and veggies.

Ingredients for making Tomato Rice:

  • Precooked Rice or paka hua chawal or पहले से बना हुआ चावल - 1 big cup
  • Tomato or tamatar or टमाटर - 1, finely chopped
  • Carrot or gajar or गाजर - 1, finely chopped
  • Green Chilli or hari mirch or हरी मिर्च - 2, finely chopped
  • Coriander Leaves or hara dhaniya or धनिया पत्ति - as per requirement, finely chopped
  • Butter or makhan or मक्खन - as per requirement or taste
  • Salt as per taste or नमक
  • Muddled paste of ginger-garlic or adrak-lehsun ka kuchla hua paste or  अदरक-लहसुन का कुचला हुआ पेस्ट - 1 tea spoon
  • Turmeric Powder or haldi powder or हल्दी पाउडर - 1/2 tea spoon
  • Garam Masala Powder or गरम मसाला पाउडर - 1/2 tea spoon (You can also use Pav Bhaji Masala instead of Garam Masala)
  • Red Chilli Powder or lal mirch powder or लाल मिर्च पाउडर - 1/2 tea spoon

Procedure for making Tomato Rice:

  1. Heat a non-stick pan and add butter to it.
  2. As the butter melts, add the muddled paste of ginger-garlic to it. Stir and saute it for 30-40 seconds.
  3. Then add the finely chopped carrot to the non-stick pan. Saute the carrot pieces till it becomes soft and changes its color.
  4. Now add finely chopped green chilli, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt to the non-stick pan. Stir and mix the ingredients.
  5. Then add tomato to the cooking ingredients. Mix and lightly saute the tomato pieces till they become slightly soft.
  6. Add garam masala powder to the cooking ingredients and mix it well.
  7. After a few seconds add precooked rice (you can also use left over rice) to the non-stick pan. Stir and cook the rice with the other ingredients over high flame.
  8. Turn off the flame and add finely chopped coriander leaves to the prepared Tomato Rice. Mix well.
  9. Transfer the prepared hot Tomato Rice to a plate. Add a cube of butter to it and serve.

टोमेटो राईस बनाने की प्रक्रिया:

  1. एक नॉन-स्टिक पैन गरम करें और इसमें मक्खन डालें।
  2. जैसे ही मक्खन पिघलने लगे तो उसमें अदरक-लहसुन का कुचला हुआ पेस्ट डालें। इसे 30-40 सेकेंड्स तक भूनें।
  3. फिर इसमें बारीक कटा हुआ गाजर डालें। गाजर का टुकड़ों को नरम होने तक भूनें।
  4. अब नॉन-स्टिक पैन में बारीक कटी हुई हरी मिर्च, हल्दी पाउडर, लाल मिर्च पाउडर और नमक डालें। चलाते हुए सारी सामग्री को मिलाएं।
  5. फिर नॉन-स्टिक पैन में कटा हुआ टमाटर डालें। टमाटर का टुकड़ों को थोड़ा नरम होने तक भूनें।
  6. अब गरम मसाला पाउडर डालें और इसे अच्छी तरह से मिलाएं।
  7. कुछ सेकेंड के बाद, नॉन-स्टिक पैन में पहले से बना हुआ चावल डालें (आप बचे हुए चावल का उपयोग भी कर सकते हैं) चावल को तेज आँच पर अन्य सामग्री के साथ भूनें।
  8. गैस बंद कर दें और तैयार किए गए टोमेटो राईस में कटा हुआ धनिया पत्ति डालें। अच्छी तरह मिलाएं।
  9. एक प्लेट में तैयार गरम टोमेटो राईस डालें। इसके ऊपर मक्खन की एक क्यूब डालें और परोसें।
