Preparation Time: 5 minutes

Cooking Time: 5 minutes to prepare the stuffing for Paneer Sandwich + 5-7 minutes for preparing 1 sandwich and cooking it (I have made 7 sandwiches here, 2 at one time)

Recipe Yield: 7 sandwiches

Alternate Names: Paneer Sandwich, Paneer Bread Patty, Stuffed Sandwich, Scrambled Paneer Sandwich

Ingredients for making Paneer Sandwich:

  • Bread Slices - 14
  • Paneer - 200 gms
  • Onion or pyaz - 1 medium size, finely chopped
  • Green Chilli or hari mirch - 4-5, finely chopped
  • Salt as per taste
  • Chaat Masala Powder - 1 tea spoon
  • Tomato sauce - as per requirement
  • Butter - as per requirement

Procedure for making Paneer Sandwich:

  1. Heat 1 table spoon butter in a kadhai or non-stick pan and allow it to melt.
  2. Then add chopped onion and green chilli to it. Saute the ingredients together till the onion turns golden brown in color.
  3. Add salt as per taste and mix with sauteed ingredients.
  4. Now add crumbled or grated paneer and mix again. Cook the ingredients together for 1 minute.
  5. Then add chaat masala powder and mix well again. Turn off the flame. The stuffing for paneer sandwich is ready.
  6. Now place 2 bread slices in a plate side by side and apply some tomato sauce on both of them (as shown in the images below). Apply tomato sauce as per your taste and requirement.
  7. Then put a spoonful of paneer stuffing on one slice and spread it in a uniform layer.
  8. Now take the other slice and place it on the paneer stuffing layer, with the tomato sauce side layer facing inwards (as shown in the image).
  9. Apply some butter on the top side of this bread.
  10. Heat a tawa or non-stick pan and grease it with some butter. Place the sandwich on the hot tawa with the butter side facing upwards.
  11. Lower the flame and allow the sandwich to cook until crispy red on the base. Then flip carefully to cook the other side on which the butter was applied. Cook till both the sides of the sandwich turn crispy red. Transfer the prepared crispy, butter and mouth-watering paneer sandwich to a plate and cut it into 2 triangular halves. Prepare the remaining sandwich in the same way and serve them hot.
