  • Crushed Cardamom Powder or kuchli hui chhoti elaichi - 1/2 tea spoon
  • Desi Ghee - 2 table spoon

Procedure for making Besan aur Khoye Ke Modak:

  1. Heat a kadhai and then lower the flame to lowest level.
  2. Then add gram flour to it and dry roast the gram flour till it appears slightly reddish in color and you can feel the aroma of roasted gram flour.

  4. Now again heat a kadhai and then lower the flame to lowest level. Add khoya or mawa to it. Stir and cook the khoya or mawa till it turns slightly reddish in color and appears cooked.
  5. Then turn of the flame and then add half of the roasted gram flour to the cooked khoya or mawa. Mix the two ingredients well.
  6. Now add the remaining roasted gram flour, mix the ingredients nicely. Crumble the lumps if any.
  7. Transfer this mixture to a plate and then add powdered sugar and crushed cardamom to it. Mix the dry ingredients again.
  8. Add 2 table spoon desi ghee to the dry mixture and mix.
  9. Now take some mixture in your hand and given it a smooth round shape like a laddu. Then with your other hand make a small peak on one side of this laddu. Your Besan aur Khoya Ka Modak is ready. Prepare the remaining modak in the same way. Garnish them with chopped dry fruits. Then offer them to Lord Ganpati and serve as bhog prasad.
