Moong Sprouts Chilla or Sprouts Besan Chilla or Sprouted Moong Chilla or Sprouts Pancake Recipe

You may not like to eat raw Sprouts or kacchi ankurit moong. But you will surely love the taste of these healthy and protein rich Moong Sprouts Chilla. They can be easily made for breakfast or snack and are packed with nutrition.

Given below is an easy recipe to prepare this nutritious and tasty Sprouted moong Chilla, for breakfast or snacks or lunch boxes. 

Preparation Time: 4-6 hours for soaking Green gram or sabut moong dal in water + 24 hours for allowing the soaked Green gram or sabut moong dal to sprout + 5-7 minutes for preparing all the ingredients required for making Moong Sprouts Chilla

Cooking Time: 3-4 minutes for cooking 1 Moong Sprouts Chilla

Ingredients for making Moong Sprouts Chilla:

  • Sprouted Green Gram or Sprouted Moong or Ankurit Moong - 1 small cup
  • Onion or pyaaz - 1 medium size, finely chopped
  • Ginger or adrak - 1 inch piece, finely chopped
  • Green Chilli or hari mirch - 3-4, finely chopped
  • Coriander leaves or dhaniya patti - as per requirement, finely chopped (you can also use mint leaves, as per your taste)
  • Gram Flour or besan - 2 table spoon
  • Salt or namak - as per taste
  • Turmeric Powder or haldi powder - 1 tea spoon
  • Cumin Powder or jeera powder - 1 tea spoon
  • Refined oil - 2 tea spoon per Moong Sprouts chilla, or as per requirement to cook the Moong Sprouts Chilla
  • Water or pani - as per requirement, for making the batter of Moong Sprouts Chilla

Procedure for making Moong Sprouts Chilla:

  1. Soak the green gram in water for 4-6 hours and then strain off the excess water. Traansfer the soaked green gram to a cleam muslin cloth. Gather the ends of the cloth together to form a pouch (potli) and leave the green gram in it for 24 hours to form sprouts.
  2. After 24 hours take out the sprouted green gram from the cloth pouch (potli) and wash them again with cleam water.
  3. In a mixing bowl take these sprouted green gram, finely chopped onion, green chilli, ginger and coriander leaves.
  4. Then add gram flour, turmeric powder, cumin powder, salt and 2 table spoon water to it. Mix and prepare a smooth batter.
  5. Heat a non-stick pan and grease it with 1 tea spoon oil. Then lower the flame to low level
  6. Pour 1 ladle full batter over it. Spread the batter in a round shape with the help of the back side of the ladle.
  7. Allow it to cook till it turns crispy red on the base. Then flip it carefully to cook in the same manner on the top side.
  8. Pour 1 tea spoon refined oil around the cooking Moong sprouts chilla after flipping it. Cook till the other side also turns crispy red.
  9. When the Moong Sprouts Chilla is nicely cooked and is crispy red on both the sides, then transfer it to a plate. Serve it hot with some hari chutney or tomato sauce.

(Tips: Cook the Moong Sprouts Chilla over low flame only.)

मूंग स्प्राउट्स चिल्ला बनाने की प्रक्रिया:

  1. हरी साबुत मूंग दाल को 4-6 घंटे के लिए साफ पानी में भिगो दें और 4-6 घंटे के बाद भीगी हुई हरी साबुत मूंग दाल से पानी छान कर हटा दें। फिर एक साफ कपड़े की पोटली बनाकर उसमें भिगी हुई हरी साबुत मूंग दाल को डाल दें। भिगी हुई हरी साबुत मूंग दाल को अंकुरित होने के लिए 24 घंटों तक कपड़े की पोटली में छोड़ दें।
  2. 24 घंटों के बाद कपड़े की पोटली में से अंकुरित साबुत मूंग दाल को निकाल लें और उसे फिर से साफ पानी से धो लें।
  3. एक मिश्रण कटोरे में अंकुरित साबुत मूंग दाल, बारीक कटा हुआ प्याज, हरी मिर्च, अदरक और धनिया डालें।
  4. फिर इसमें बेसन, हल्दी पाउडर, जीरा पाउडर, नमक और 2 बड़ा चम्मच पानी डालें। अच्छे से मिलाकर एक चिकना घोल तैयार करें।
  5. एक नॉन-स्टिक पैन को गरम करें और इस पर 1 छोटा चम्मच रिफाइंड तेल डालकर फैलाएं। फिर आंच को कम कर दें।
  6. अब नॉन-स्टिक पैन पर 1 गोल कल्छी भरकर चरण 4 में तैयार किये गये घोल को डालें। कल्छी के पीछले तरफ से इस घोल को गोल आकार में फैलाएं।
  7. इसे तब तक पकाएं जब तक कि यह आधार पर कुरकुरा लाल न हो जाए। फिर इसे ऊपर की तरफ उसी तरह पकाने के लिए सावधानी से पलट दें।
  8. एक बार के पलटने के बाद मूँग स्प्राउट्स चिल्ला के चारों तरफ 1 छोटी  चम्मच रिफाइंड तेल घुमाकर डालें। दूसरी तरफ भी भी तब तक पकाएं जब तक कि यह कुरकुरा लाल न हो जाए।
  9. जब मूंग स्प्राउट्स चिल्ला अच्छी तरह से पक जाए और दोनों तरफ पर कुरकुरा लाल होजाए है, तो उसे एक प्लेट में निकाल लें और हरि चटनी या टमाटर सॉस के साथ परोसें।

(टिप्स: मूंग स्प्राउट्स चिल्ला को कम आंच पर ही पकाएं।)
