Basic Pancake Recipe - Learn How To Make Basic Pancakes

Some dishes are just meant to relish and they are all time favorite for all ages. Served with chocolate sauce, or cream and cherries or plain honey, pancakes make a mouth-watering snack. The taste is sure to satisfy a person's sweet tooth. They are very easy to make and can be made in every less time.

Prepare these amazingly tempting pancakes and pamper your friends and family, with the help of an easy and detailed recipe given below. The recipe photos and the link to the video has also been provided below:

Preparation Time: 5 minutes

Cooking Time: 5 minutes for making batter for pancake + 18 minutes (5-6 minutes in making one pancake; you can make 2-3 pancakes at one time if you have a big non-stick tawa)

Recipe Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients for making Basic Pancake / सामग्री:

  • All Purpose Flour  or maida - 1 big cup; (मैदा)
  • Baking Powder - 1 tea spoon; (बेकिंग पाउडर)
  • Baking Soda - 1/2 tea spoon; (बेकिंग सोडा)
  • Curd or dahi - 1 big cup; (दही)
  • Milk or doodh - as per requirement or 1 small cup for making the batter; (दूध)
  • Sugar or cheeni - 2 table spoon or as per taste; (चीनी)
  • Refined Oil - 2 table spoon for batter, as per requirement for cooking the pancakes (you can use butter instead of refined oil for cooking the pancakes); (रिफाइंड तेल)
  • Honey - as per taste for garnishing the pancakes; (शहद)

Procedure for making Basic Pancake:

  1. In a big plate or mixing bowl take all purpose flour and add baking powder to it. Mix the dry ingredients well together.
  2. In another vessel take curd and sugar. Whisk the two ingredients together so as to completely dissolve the sugar in the curd.
  3. Then add refined oil to the sweetened curd and whisk again to form a uniform solution of sweetened curd and refined oil.
  4. Now pour this solution of sweetened curd and refined oil into the dry mixture of all purpose flour and baking powder.
  5. Mix the ingredients together and be careful so that no lumps are formed.
  6. Now slowly add milk to the mixing bowl and mix well to form a smooth pancake batter without any lumps. Prepare a pancake batter of medium thick consistency so that it gets poured easily and spreads on it own, when poured over the hot non-stick tawa. Remember the pancake batter should not be very thin in consistency, or otherwise it will stick to tawa while cooking.
  7. When the batter is ready add 1/2 tea spoon baking soda to it. As soon as you add baking soda to the pancake batter you will notice the formation of some air bubbles. Mix the baking soda with the pancake batter.
  8. Now heat a non-stick tawa and grease it with 1/2 tea spoon refined oil.
  9. Then take a round ladle and pour a ladle full pancake batter over the hot non-stick tawa. Allow the pancake batter to spread on its own into a round pancake. If you have a big non-stick tawa then you can make 2-3 pancakes at one time. (as hown in the images below.) Lower the flame to medium level as soon as you pour the pancake batter over the non-stick tawa
  10. Allow the pancakes to cook  on one side for 3 minutes till it turns crispy red in color. Then flip all of them to cook in the same manner for 3 minutes on the other side as well. If required pour some oil or add butter to the tawa around the cooking pancakes.
  11. When the pancakes are cooked aand turn nice crispy red on both sides, then remove them to a plate. Prepare pancakes of the remaining batter in the same manner.
  12. When all the pancakes are ready garnish them with honey, chocolate sauce or cream and serve. 

बेसिक पैनकेक बनाने की प्रक्रिया:

  1. एक बड़ी प्लेट या मिक्सिंग कटोरे में सभी मैदा और इसमें बेकिंग पाउडर डालें। दोनों सूखी सामग्री को अच्छी तरह से एक साथ मिलाएं।
  2. एक दूसरे मिक्सिंग कटोरे में दही और चीनी डालें। दोनों सामग्री को अच्छी तरह से एक साथ मिलाएं जब तक कि चीनी दही में पूरी तरह से घुल न जाए।
  3. फिर इस मिठे दही में रिफाइंड तेल डालें और अच्छे से मिलाअकर एक सामान घोल बनाएं।
  4. अब इस मिठे दही और रिफाइंड तेल के घोल को मैदे और बेकिंग पाउडर के सूखे मिश्रण में डालें।
  5. सारी सामग्री को एक साथ मिलाएं और ध्यान रखें कि रहें कोई गांठ ने बनें।
  6. अब इस मिक्सिंग कटोरे में धीरे-धीरे दूध डालें और अच्छी तरह मिलाकर एक चिकना पैनकेक बैटर बनाएं। पैनकेक बैटर मध्यम मोटी स्थिरता का होना चाहिए ताकि यह आसानी से गिर सके और अपने आप ही नॉन-स्टिक तवे पर फैल जाए। याद रखें कि पैनकेक बैटर को स्थिरता में बहुत पतली नहीं होना चाहिए, नही तो ये नॉन-स्टिक तवे पर चिपक जाएगा।
  7. जब पैनकेक बैटर तैयार हो जाए तो इसमें 1/2 चम्मच बेकिंग सोडा डालें। जैसे ही आप पैनकेक बैटर में बेकिंग सोडा डालेंगे, आपको कुछ बुलबुले उठते हुए दिखाई देंगे। पैनकेक बैटर में बेकिंग सोडा अच्छे से मिलाएं।
  8. अब एक नॉन-स्टिक तवा गरम करें और इसपर ½ छोटी चम्मच रिफाइंड तेल डलेअकर फैला लें।
  9. फिर एक गोल कल्छी से पैनकेक बैटर गरम नॉन-स्टिक तवे पर डालें। पेनकेक बैटर को एक गोल पैनकेक में अपने आप फैलने दें। यदि आपके पास एक बड़ा नॉन-स्टिक तावा है तो आप एक बार में 2-3 पेनकेक्स बना सकते हैं। (जैसा कि नीचे दी गई छवियों में दिखाया हुआ है) जैसे ही आप पैनकेक बैटर को नॉन-स्टिक तावा पर डालें तो आँम को मध्यम स्तर तक कम कर दें।
  10. पेनकेक्स को एक तरफ पर लगभग 3 मिनट तक पकने दें, जब तक कि यह सुन्हरे लाल रंग का न होजाए। फिर उनको पलट दें और दूसरी तरफ भी 3 मिनट तक उसी तरीके से पकाएं। यदि आवश्यक हो तो थोड़ा रिफाइंड तेल या मक्खन घुमाकर पेनकेक्स के चारों तरफ डालें।
  11. जब पॅनकेक्स पक जाएं और दोनों तरफ पर सुन्हरे लाल रंग के होजाएं, तो उन्हें एक थाली में निकाल दें। शेष बैटर के पेनकेक्स इसी तरह से तैयार करें।
  12. जब सभी पेनकेक्स तैयार होजाएं तो उन्हें शहद, चॉकलेट सॉस या क्रीम से गार्निश करें और परोसें।
