Ingredients:
- White sesame seeds (safed til) - 1 cup
- Peanuts (mungfali) - 1 cup
- Jaggery (gud) - 1 cup
- Water - 1 cup
Procedure:
- Heat a kadhai and dry roast (without any oil or desi ghee) the white sesame seeds (safed til) till they turn red. Now transfer the roasted white sesame seeds (safed til) to mixer jar and grind to a granular form.
- Similarly dry roast the peanuts (mungfali) till they turn red and then grind them to a granular form (as shown in the images below).
- Mix well both the grinded sesame seeds and peanuts in a plate.
- Heat a kadhai and add water and jaggery (gud) to it. In some time you will notice that the jaggery (gud) will melt and dissolve in water and the solution will start boiling. Stir the solution continuously to avoid its solidification. When the consistency of the solution starts to become thick, then take some water in a bowl. Now drop a spoonful of this solution into the bowl and check if it solidifies in water. If the solution prepared solidifies in the bowl of water, then turn off the flame.
- Now add this solution slowly with a spoon into the sesame seeds and peanuts mixture prepared in step 1. Keep mixing continuously to fom a uniform mixture. Allow this mixture to cool and then spread it on a flat plate. Now cut small chikki pieces of it in the desired shape (as shown in the images below) and allow them to cool down further and solidify. The gud badaam chikki are now ready to be serve. You can preserve them in a jar for 10-15 days to be served as snack bars to satisfy sudden hunger pangs.
