Aate Ka Chilla or Aate Ka Cheela Recipe - With Lakshmi Recipes

When kids do not want to have plain roti and sabji, Aate Ka Chilla will serve as a great substitute for their required intake of carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients. Its easy and quick to make and this tasty twist to the traditional roti and sabji or paratha and sabji, will surely be loved by all. 

So why delay, go on and quickly make it with the help of a detailed recipe given below:

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 4 minutes in cooking one chilla

Recipe Yield: 4 Aate Ke Chille

Alternative Names: Aate Ka Chilla, Aate Ka Cheela, Ate ka Chilla

Procedure for making Aate Ka Chilla:

  1. Take whole wheat flour in a deep vessel and add turmeric powder, salt and cumin powder to it. Mix the dry ingredients together.
  2. Now add chopped onion, green chilli and ginger to the dry mixture and mix again.
  3. Then add some water and mix to form a smooth batter. Remember that no lumps are formed. Add water slowly and keep mixing to for a batter with medium thick consistency. It should neither be very thivk nor watery but flowy enough to spread when poured on a flat surface.
  4. Now heat a non-tick pan or a tawa. Pour 1 tea spoon refined oil over and spread to grease it.
  5. Then using a round ladle, take ladle full of batter onto the non-stick pan. Spread it to form a round disc like shape with the help of the back side of the ladle, by moving it in circular motion. Spread the batter to form a thck and round disc like shape.
  6. Pour 1 tea spoon oil along the edges of the cooking chilla.
  7. When the base side is cooked and appears crispy red then flip the cooking chilla, to cook in the same manner on the other side.
  8. Again pour 1 tea spoon oil along the edges of the cooking chilla. Cook the chilla till both the sides are crispy red.
  9. Then sprinkle some chopped onion, tomato, cucumber and chaat masala powder over it. Fold it from one side to form a semi-circular shape. Transfer the prepared Aate Ka Chilla to a plate. Prepare the remaining chilla in the same way and serve.

आटे का चीला बनाने की प्रक्रिया:

  1. एक गहरे बर्तन में गेहूं का आटा डालें और इसमें हल्दी पाउडर, नमक और जीरा पाउडर जोड़ें। सूखी सामग्री को एक साथ मिलाएं।
  2. अब इसमें कटा हुआ प्याज, हरी मिर्च और अदरक डालें और फिर से मिलाएं।
  3. फिर इस मिश्रण में धीरे-धीरे थोड़ा पानी डालें और मिलाकर एक म्ध्यम गाढ़ा घोल तैयार करें। याद रखें कि कोई गुठली नहीं बनें। पानी को धीरे-धीरे ही डालें। यह घोल न तो बहुत पतला और न ही बहुत गाढ़ा हो।
  4. अब एक नॉन-स्टिक पैन या तावा को गरम करें। 1 चम्मच रिफाइंड तेल डालें और इसे फैलाकर तावा को चिकना करें।
  5. फिर एक गोल कल्छी के उपयोग से थोड़ा घोल नॉन-स्टिक पैन पर डालें। इसे कल्छी के पिछले भाग से फैलाते हुए गोलाकार दें।
  6. पकते हुए चीले के चारों तरफ किनारों पर 1 छोटी चम्मच रिफाइंड तेल डालें।
  7. जब यह एक तरफ पर पक जाएं और कुरकुरा और लाल दिखाई देनें लगें तो इसे दूसरी तरफ भी उसी तरह पकाने के लिए पलट दें।
  8. फिर से चीले के चारों तरफ किनारों पर 1 छोटी चम्मच रिफाइंड तेल डालें। चिले को दोनों तरफ कुरकुरा लाल होनें तक पकाएं।
  9. फिर इस आटे के चीले पर थोड़ा कटा हुआ प्याज, टमाटर, खीरा और चाट मसाला पाउडर छिड़कें। एक तरफ से उठाकर अर्ध-गोलाकार आकार बनाने के लिए इसे मोड़ दें। तैयार आटे के चिला को प्लेट में निकालें और परोसें।
