Carrot Pancake Recipe - Learn How To Make Carrot Pancake

Sweet carrot pancakes are known to everyone and loved when served with rich cream cheese topping. But have you ever tried salty, mildly sweet and spicy and crispy carrot pancakes served with grated cheese topping?

They taste even better and save you from any form of added sugars. The mildly sweet and spicy taste will make anyone crave for more and make them fall in love with this healthy snack. Try out these amazing and healthy carrot pancakes with the help of detailed recipe, step by step photos and video given below:

Preparation Time: 5 minutes

Cooking Time: 10 minutes (5 minutes for cooking one batch of carrot pancakes. There were 2 pancakes prepared in one batch)

Recipe Yield: 4 carrot pancakes

Ingredients for making Carrot Pancake:

  • Grated Carrot - 2 big cup
  • Green chilli - 4-5 or as per taste, finely chopped
  • Ginger - 1 inch piece, finely grated
  • Coriander Leaves - 2 table spoon
  • Cheese - as per taste and requirement, finely grated
  • Salt as per taste
  • Caraway Seeds - 1/2 tea spoon
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tea spoon
  • Cumin Seeds Powder - 1/2 tea spoon
  • Black Pepper Powder - 1/2 tea spoon
  • Refined Oil - as per requirement
  • Gram Flour - 3 table spoon
  • Semolina - 1 table spoon

Procedure for making Carrot Pancake:

  1. Peel off the carrot well and wash it nicely with clean water. Then cut off the both ends of the carrot and grate it finely.
  2. Now transfer the grated carrot to a big plate and add finely chopped coriander leaves, green chilli and ginger to it. Mix all ingredients well.
  3. Then add gram flour, semolina, salt, caraway seeds, turmeric powder, cumin seeds powder and black pepper powder to the above mixture. Mix all ingredients nicely with your hands.
  4. Generally water is not required to bind the ingredients together. But if the mixture appears very dry then add 1-2 table spoon water and mix well. We do not have to prepare a very thin batter for carrot pancake. The consistency should be enough that the ingredients bind together (as should in the image below).
  5. Now heat a non-stick pan and grease it with 1/2 tea spoon refined oil.
  6. Take a handfull of batter and place it on the non-stick pan. Spread it evenly in a round shape wiht your hand to form a medium thick pancake. Reduce the flame to medium level.
  7. When the base of the pancake turn crispy red then flip it carefully with a flat ladle and add 1/2 tea spoon refined oil around the cooking carrot pancake.
  8. Allow the pancake to cook until crispy red on the other side as well over medium flame only.
  9. Now add some grated cheese over the cooking pancake and when the cheese appears to be melting then turn off flame and remove the pancake to a plate to be served hot. If you have a big size non-stick pan then you can prepare 3-4 pancakes at one time.

कैरट-पैनकेक बनाने की प्रक्रिया:

  1. गाजर को अच्छी तरह से छीलकर साफ पानी से धो लें। फिर गाजर के दोनों सिरों को काट लें और इसे बारीकी से कद्दु-कस।
  2. अब कद्दु-कस की हुई गाजर को एक बड़ी प्लेट में निकाल लें और इसमें बारीक कटी हुई धनिया पत्ती, हरी मिर्च और अदरक डालें। अच्छी तरह से सभी सामग्री को मिलाएं।
  3. फिर पिछले चरण में तैयार किया हुए मिश्रण में बेसन, सूजी, नमक, अज्वैन, हल्दी पाउडर, जीरा पाउडर और काली मिर्च पाउडर डालें। अपने हाथों के साथ सभी सामग्री अच्छी तरह से मिलाएं।
  4. वैसे तो सामग्री को बॉधने केलिए पानी की जरूरत नहीं पड़ेगी लेकिन अगर मिश्रण बहुत सूखा दिखाई देता है तो 1-2 बड़ा चम्मच पानी डालें और अच्छी तरह से मिलाएं। हमें गाजर पैनकेक के लिए बहुत पतला बैटर तैयार करने की ज़रूरत नहीं है। स्थिरता पर्याप्त होनी चाहिए जिस्से कि सामग्री को एक साथ बंधी रहे (जैसा कि नीचे की छवि में होना चाहिए)।
  5. अब एक नॉन-स्टिक पैन गरम करें और इस पर ½ छोटी चम्मच रिफाइंड तेल डालकर अच्छे से फैला दें।
  6. अब इस कैरट-पैनकेक के मिश्रण को अपने हाथ में लें और इसे नॉन-स्टिक पैन पर डालें। इसे एक गोल आकार में समान रूप से फैलाएं। आँच को मध्यम स्तर तक कम करें और कैरट-पैनकेक के मिश्रण को पकने दें।
  7. जब पैनकेक की नीचे से क्रिस्पी लाल होजाए तो इसे एक चपटी कल्छी से सावधानी से पलट दें और पकते हुए कैरट-पैनकेक के चारों तरफ 1/2 छोटी चम्मच रिफाइंड तेल घुमा कर डालें।
  8. कैरट-पैनकेक को दूसरी तरफ भी क्रिस्पी लाल होने तक पकने दें, आँच को मध्यम ही रखें।
  9. अब कैरट-पैनकेक पर थोड़ा कद्दु-कस किया हुआ चीज़ डालें और जब चीज़ पिघलता हुआ प्रतीत होने लगे तो गैस बंद कर दें और गरमा-गरम कैरट-पैनकेक को एक प्लेट में निकाल दें। यदि आपके पास एक बड़ा आकार का नॉन-स्टिक पैन है तो आप एक बार में 3-4 कैरट-पैनकेक्स तैयार कर सकते हैं।
