Bread Rasmalai Recipe - Learn How To Make Bread Rasmalai

Bread Rasmalai is an awesomely delicious, creamy, juicy and palatable substitute for the traditional rasmalai sweet dish of India. It is an easy to make dessert dish, absolutely suitable for sudden sweet cravings after late night dinners, or heavy Sunday Lunch or any time during the day when you feel the need to satisfy your sweet tooth.  

With rabri already prepared earlier, bread rasmalai can be prepared in just 5 minutes and even kids enjoy making it. This creamy, juicy and milky sweet dish is loved by everyone.

With fresh bread, and freshly made rabri Bread Rasmalai serves as a great dessert for house parties, kitty parties, birthday celebration or any other special occasion. All you need is to garnish the simple dish of bread slices soaked in creamy rabri with saffron starnds and chopped almonds or dry fruits of your choice. Given below is detailed recipe of this easy to make bread rasmalai along with the step by step photos.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes

Cooking Time: 15 minutes for making rabri + 30 minutes for cooling the rabri + 5 minutes for making the bread rasmalai (If the rabri is already prepared earlier, then it requires only 5 minutes to make Bread Rasmalai)

Recipe Yield: 2 servings (2 bread rasmalai per serving)

Ingredients for making Bread Rasmalai:

  • Bread Slices - 4; (ब्रेड स्लाइस)
  • Meethi Rabri - 1 small cup; (रबड़ी)
  • Saffron - as per requirement for garnishing; (केसर)
  • Almonds - as per requirement for garnishing, finely chopped; (कटा हुआ बादाम)
  • Crushed Cardamom Powder - as per taste, for making rabri; (छोटी इलायची का पाउडर)

Procedure for making Bread Rasmalai:

  1. In a deep vessel pour 1/2 litre milk and boil it over high flame. Then lower the flame to continue the milk to boil till it becomes thick, dense and reduces to half its original quantity.
  2. Now add 2 table spoon sugar and mix till the sugar melts and dissolves.
  3. Then add crushed cardamom powder. Mix all the ingredients well and then turn off the flame. The rabri is ready. (Remember the rabri should not be very thick. The consistency of the rabri should medium thick.)
  4. Keep the rabri aside to rest allowing it to cool down till room temperature.
  5. Take the bread slices in a plate and cut round pieces from them using a sharp edged bowl or sharp edged glass or cutter/stensil (as shown in the images below).
  6.  Place these round bread pieces in serving bowl.
  7. Now pour some rabri generously over these bread pieces and garnish it with saffron strands and chopped almonds. The yummy, easy to make, creamy and palatable dessert dish is ready to be served.

ब्रेड रसमलाई बनाने की प्रक्रिया:

  1. एक गहरी पतीले में 1/2 लीटर दूध डालें और इसे तेज आँच पर उबाल लें। फिर आँच को कम करें और दूध को गाढ़ा होने तक और जब तक दूध अपनी मूल मात्रा का आधा न रह जाए तब तक उबलने दें।
  2. अब गाढ़ा किये हुए दूध में 2 बड़ा चम्मच चीनी डालें और चीनी का पिघलने और पूरी तरह से घुलने तक मिलाएं।
  3. फिर कुचली हुई छोटी इलायची का पाउडर डालें। सभी सामग्री अच्छी तरह से मिलाएं और फिर आँच बंद करें। रबड़ी तैयार है।
  4. रबड़ी को कमरे के तापमान तक शांत जगह पर कुछ देर के लिए रख दें।
  5. एक प्लेट में ब्रेड स्लाइस लें और एक तेज धार वाली कटोरी या तेज धार वाला गिलास या कटर / स्टेंसिल का उपयोग करके गोल टुकड़े काट लें (जैसा कि नीचे दी गई छवियों में दिखाया गया है)।
  6. अब सुन्दर सर्विंग कटोरी में इन गोल ब्रेड के टुकड़े रखें।
  7. अब इनके ऊपर रबड़ी डालें और ऊपर से केसर और कटा हुआ बादाम डालकर सजाएं। आपका बनाने में आसान, मलाईदार और स्वादिष्ट ब्रेड रसमलाई मिश्ठान तैयार है।

(Tips: The consistency of the rabri for bread rasmalai should not be very thick like cream. The rabri for bread rasmalai should be of medium thick consistency, like that of thickened milk)
