Moong Sprouts Raita Recipe - Learn How To Make Moong Sprouts Raita

A simple and healthy moong sprouts raita makes a good side dish with parathas, pulao, rotis, etc. Its very simple to make and yet extremely healthy with the protein rich sprouts and calcium rich curd. Learn how to make this tasty spicy and sweet delight with the help of step by step photos and detailed recipe given below:

Ingredients for making Sprouts Raita सामग्री :

  • Sprouted green gram - 1/2 cup (अंकुरित हरी मूंग दाल - 1/2 कप)
  • Curd  - 1 cup (दही - 1 कप)
  • Salt as per taste (स्वादानुसार नमक)
  • Red Chilli Powder - as per requirement (लाल मिर्च पाउडर - आवश्यकता के अनुसार)
  • Chaat Masala Powder - as per requirement (चाट मसाला पाउडर - आवश्यकता के अनुसार)
  • Honey  - 1 tea spoon (शहद - 1 छोटी चम्मच)
  • Coriander Leaves - as per requirement; finely chopped (हरे धनिये के पत्ते - आवश्यकता के अनुसार; बारीक कटा हुआ)

Procedure for making Sprouts Raita:

  1. Wash the green gram well with plain water. Then soak it in plain water for 6 hours. Strain off the excess water after 6 hours and then transfer all of it to a clean cloth. Bring the edges of the cloth together to form a potli and then hang this potli to allow the soaked green gram to sprout. It takes 10 hours approximately in summers for the soaked whole green gram to sprout, while it takes approximately 24 hours to sprout in winters.
  2. When the sprouts are ready wash them again with plain water and then transfer them to a serving dish.
  3. Now pour some curd over them.
  4. Then sprinkle salt as per taste, red chilli powder and chaat masala powder over it.
  5. Add some fresh green coriander leaves to the raita being prepared.
  6. Now finally pour 1 tea spoon honey over the raita to get the slight sweet taste to it. The beautiful, fresh and healthy raita is ready to be served.

अंकुरित मूंग का रायता बनाने की प्रक्रिया:

  1. साबुत मूंग दाल को पहलॆ अच्छे से साफ पानी से धोकर इसे 6 घंटे के लिए सादे पानी में भिगो दें। 6 घंटे के बाद भीगी हुइ दाल को पानी से निकालकर एक साफ कपड़े में रखें। इस कपड़े की पोटली बनाने के लिए कपड़े के किनारों को एक साथ लाएं और फिर पोटली को किसी जगह पर अंकुरित होने केलिए लटका दें। गर्मी में अंकुरित होने केलिए में लगभग 10 घंटे लगते हैं, जबकि सर्दियों में लगभग 24 घंटे लगते हैं।
  2. जब दाल अंकुरित होकर तैयार होजाए तो इन्हे निकाल कर फिर से साफ पानी से धोकर एक सर्विंग डिश में डालें।
  3. इसके ऊपर से फिर दही डालें।
  4. अब ऊपर से स्वाद अनुसार नमक, आवश्यकता के अनुसार लाल मिर्च पाउडर और चाट मसाला पाउडर डालें।
  5. अब थोड़े हरे धनिये के पत्ते और 1 छोटी चम्मच शहद डालकर अंकुरित मूंग का रायता परोसॆं।
